  • I actually read a fairly extensive summary of the Senate bill (that the House just voted on). It was compiled by a non-partisan group. I don't suppose to know every nuance of the bill - but I absolutely know that my family will be getting some relief, as will millions of American.

  • The majority "angry" vote speaks volumes - the Republican marketing machine is alive and well! Though not surprised, it's too bad more people don't take the time to read what this reform bill will actually mean/do - rather than just listen to and buy into the Republican soundbites...

  • True. But cowboys are also not a long persecuted/discriminated against culture - the Aboriginal culture is - and though they've done much to turn this around in recent years - Olympic performances like this, presented on the world stage, add to the Aboriginal struggle for respect.

  • The thing is, our early ancestors are not alive - but aboriginal people are. It wouldn't have taken much for the skaters to be more sensitive to a culture that's been disrespected, and worse, for far too long...

  • The lack of authenticity was insulting. They could have been creative and respectful, both. They were neither. The costumes were ridiculous. Beyond silly, they seemed to mock (though I realize this wasn't the intent) indigenous cultures. What was with the fake leaves? - very Adam/Eve cartoonish.
